All, I’ve been delaying this ask for a few months but the time now has unfortunately come. Would there be any Tiger owners in the central NJ (or PA/NY) area willing to give a long-time Sunbeam Alpine owner a ride in a Tiger before he succumbs to cancer?
Short Story – My 82yr old father is a long-time owner of a ’67 Alpine and was diagnosed earlier this year with terminal cancer. He’s fought valiantly but the therapies have recently become ineffective and his time is now short. I’d love to surprise him with a quick spin in the Tiger we’ve always talked about and drooled over. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Long Story – My father purchased a ’67 Alpine in the late 70’s any enjoyed it thoroughly until he encountered distributor issues in ’82 or ’83. He then decided to rebuild the engine and as is usual, life got in the way. The car sat idle for many years until his ‘2nd retirement’ 25yrs later when he felt it was time restore the entire car. The interior and body were disassembled, rust was cut away and he began reaching out to local shops for rust repair costs. I think the quotes surprised him as he seemed to pull away from the project then even after I nudged a numerous times and offered to help with the costs. So the car has sat in his garage since, covered in a layer of dust. Now with only a short time left, hoping someone in the SAOCA family might be willing to give him a short ride to forget about his current situation. Again, Thanks in advance for your consideration.
