April 1st-3rd 2022 Sunbeam Invasion/SOS Columbia, South Carolina

From the local weather report tonight
Thursday-rain
Friday, Saturday+Sunday "just fabulous!" (his words....)

My wishlist from the parts room:
Late series drivers side window with bottom channel
Series 3 drivers side window regulator (good, broken, or S-5 to possibly modify to fit)
Series 3 hood badge
Late series horn ring
Metal brackets for late series steering column clam shell (or broken clam shell)
Series 3 hood hinges (different than s-2 with shallow hood opening and late series that push the s-3 grill out about 1" when closed)
Early series license plate lens retaining clip/spring

I am bringing you the door glass and metal channel, will also have a late horn ring complete.

Joined up with the local British club yesterday at the race track to help set up the car show parking. Over 120 British cars registered so far and Sunbeams are 30 of them. We laid out space for 40 Sunbeams and may fill them all.
Not to late to join us. You can register your car at the gate on Saturday. The swap meet on Friday at the host hotel starts at 10 AM and goes on all day long. Just got a call today from another member who is bringing a truck full of parts to sell! Sunny and 72 degrees Friday, Saturday, and Sunday too.

A wish list item....one small insulator bushing, goes under the horn ring on series V. One side round, other is hex, roughly 5/16" in size. Uses three, and three small springs. I may be able to cast it with JB Weld, but not quickly!

I will be in a red tundra. Trying to get there before lunch. I may have what you need.
My name is Randy.

How are things going in Columbia! I'm at a family event this weekend but am thinking of you guys and wish I could be there with my Alpine!

Weather is beautiful, wish you were here! I have learned a lot about horn rings, among other things. Quote: "I wish I could be there with my Alpine!"

Sorry you could not join us Jim! What a weekend. Perfect weather and more Sunbeams (30) than we have ever had here at our Invasion. And the parts room got filled up so fast on Friday morning we got lucky that no one had the conference room next door so we got that and then filled it as well! It was so good to see everyone again after two long years of no shows or Sunbeams.
There were 150 total British cars at the show on Saturday so there was lots to see and do.
Here are a few photos. Thanks to Todd Smith for getting us all together again and to all those who made some long drives to join us.
Let's do this again next year!
I hope that others can post some photos here as well. I was pretty busy....

David (last name?) was kind enough to give me two tachometers. And with the help of an excellent tutorial on this website, I have one of them working! Not a simple thing to figure out, but with help from my friends.......
By the way, am looking for a tachometer for our series V. The unit in the dash was a 3" tach from J.C. Whitney....
