Looking for opinions and any reviews or feedback re the Holley Ultrabright LED headlights. They look more period correct than others I have seen. Not sure I am a fan of the Holley logo on lens. Might these work with stock gauge headlight wiring and if not what gauge wire would you use - I am putting in a relay to save load on switch but hoping to keep original engine compartment wiring if possible.

A: According to the Holley website "specs" section for this LFRB135, it electrically draws 25 watts low, and 30 watts on high beam. At a nominal 12.6 volt battery, that would equate to approximately 2 amps on low beam, and 2.4 amps on high beam which is easily carried by most headlight wiring, so you should not need a high current carrying relay circuit.

Those lights come in two colors, modern white 5700K and classic yellowish 3000K. Neither is inexpensive, but there is another consideration...I drove four hundred something miles in heavy rain (2-3 inches per hour) last Friday, some of it in the dark. Oncoming traffic with the old type yellowish lights allowed me some visibility after dark in the rain. Oncoming traffic with the bright white lights completely washed out all visibility. Could not see the road stripes, reflective markers, signs or anything else. The white lights tend to blind other drivers after dark in heavy rain.

Thanks, darn things are pricy
Yes, all the reviews I read rated the price with one or two stars because they didn't see the value. And you may want to stay away from the LED that replace your Halogen bulbs, not safe at all and not worth it. Ask me how I know.

If you do install these, please take the extra time to make sure they're aimed right. If you're behind the wheel, LED's are great. If they're aimed AT you, they're bloody dangerous. Even if they're behind or even beside you, they are blinding.
