64 vs. 67 Alpine

Please excuse the dumb question, but are the floors and other parts of the unibody of the Alpine different from 64 to 67? Specifically, I have a set of Martel floor pans for a 67, would they fit a 64?

Thanks,
Todd

the floors should be the same, most of the body panels from SIV and Sv are the same, only real changes are the square corners on door, boot, bonnet and the softtop arrangment, fresh air scuttle vents.

Is your '64 an early Series IV or a late Series 3? I thought I read somewhere (Book of Norman?) that the last vestiges of the Hillman Husky floorpan disappeared when the Alpine IV/Tiger I body came out. If so, your '67 floorpan might not be totally identical to Series 3.

Jarrid, i havent had a chance to read the BON, but if i remember correctly from reading through rob's website didnt he get all the patterns for his floors from a S3GT alpine?

Well here is some personal proof. When my very late SV was t-boned, I bought a S3 shell, had it painted, and slowly moved each part over, one by one. So, I found out first hand which things didn't fit, and there were a few. One of them was the threshold - that aluminum decorator piece that runs along to bottom of the door opening and up the angle at the back of the door opening. The one for the S3 was shorter and I had to trim it a good 1/2" to make it fit. I don't know what else that translates too. But, I have ZERO doubt it is true as between my S3 and my very late SV.

Thanks everyone for the info. I'll have to decide if I want a less rusty 64 shell or continue with my very rusty 67 one. Decisions, decisions!

Todd, I suggest you go with the least rusty body. Rust is everywhere on a rusty car. While installing three point seat belts on my rusty car, I notice the inner fender panel that serves as one of the anchor points was rusted to a thinness that really would not be of much value to hold the belt in case of an accident. And so it goes thoughout the body. Everything is marginalized by the rust.

If the floor panels will not fit the "good' body, sell them. I think you will them pretty easy to unload.

The factory floors changed from series 1 & 2 at the series 3 model when they converted the rear chassis to telescoping shocks. The floors you have will comfortable fit from 1963 to 1967.:D
