OK, I live in the West where its miles between towns and running the Alpine at 4K-5K rpm for lengths of time is disconcerting. Does any one make a conversion kit to put a 5-speed transmission in our Alpines. And to answer the question, no, I'm not interested in putting an OD unit on.

I believe there is a firm in Austrialia that modifies the Rootes bellhousing to accept a Toyota 5-sp. Perhaps Michael or Robin can provide more details. Of course a V-6 with a T-5 would also work!
