Selling my golden 'Sun-Bam' Alpine, series II with the graceful fins.
Great weekend driver, have done many long distance rallies with it but it's not a show car. Has lots of character and turns heads.
Has been a casual project but we need to free up some space.
1725cc Rootes replacement engine with a weber 32/36 - resurfaced the head and did head gasket about 1000 miles ago
5-speed manual transmission from a mk2 Toyota Celica (odometer doesn't work because of it)
Recent tires and spare as of 2023
Also has new seat upholstery from prior owner. The rest of the interior seems pretty original.
Includes car cover, tonneau cover and some extra parts bins
Front bumper was hit during prior ownership--one of the body mounts is cracked and front valence is bent. (Along with the lettering)
Paint has blemishes + scrapes from years of enjoyment
Needs new convertible top (ripped, and we haven't used it)
Could use some aesthetic clean-up but it's ready to be driven to a new home
