I have a rebuild kit and I am unclear on what parts I have here. Is the part second from left, the spring retainer or the check valve? In any event it would appear that either, the spring retainer or the check valve is not a part included in the kit.

The item 2nd from left is the check valve. It appears the spring retainer is not included. From Work Shop Manual.

The spring retainer is a 3 legged cup that fits in the small end of the spring and rests against the inside of the main seal.

Thank you for that. I figured that part was the check valve but I blew into it in both directions and the air flows through the same either way. I guess it is just a restricted orifice.
