I want to learn more about this door mirror on my Series V. I'd love to find another just like it. Does anyone know who made it, or if it's English or American? I've seen one other related post from the forum archives, but the photo link is dead. Todd Wisconsin

    SV heater wiring

I'm installing the original heater assembly in my SV. There's 2 wires on the blower motor. One has a ring terminal, which is for ground. Does the other wire go to the resistor that's mounted on the motor bracket? If it does, is it supposed to be soldered to the resistor? Todd

    salvage yard finds

I'm sharing photos of Rootes vehicles I've seen at a SE Wisconsin salvage yard. I love going through the "old-time" salvage yards. It's better than going through a museum sometimes. If anyone is interested in parts off these cars, I have NO problem stopping at the yard again or putting you in...

    reading pistons and valves

Hello all, I've removed the head from my SV. For the engine gurus out there, please look at the pictures and tell me how you would 'read' the tops of the pistons and the faces of the valves. -I'm guessing all but one cylinder was burning oil, judging the thin, black film on the tops of 3...

Does anyone know why the Sunbeam Tiger was first known as the "Ford Thunderbolt"? I'm going through a list of SCCA's 1964 Production racing classes (dated 1963), and for B-Production it lists: Ford Thunderbolt ("Sunbeam 260"). SCCA shows a disclaimer stating, "Rootes Motors reports that they...

    AC fuel pump fitting

Hi all, I'm near the end of my rope. What do I need to run a steel tube to the inlet side of the AC mechanical fuel pump? I converted my SV back to a mechanical pump (bought a NOS AC pump). The plastic fuel line from the tank was snipped, so I'm running rubber hose to the pump. I'd love to...
