    HLM Clutch Fluid Leak

When the seals in the brake/clutch MC fail on tbe inside clean the hydraulic fluid as fast as possible as it strips the paint and destroys the carpets and sound deadening

    Oil cooler kit

The canister filter block and the spin on have different oil galleries.. the gaskets if interchanged will block oil circulation.. so same issue if you used a sv oil cooler block with a canister filter block. You can fit a sv collar block and filter block on the 1494/1592 without issue

hardtop 1961, no plexi, Hardwick Mass

Ah.. didnt notice the listing.. that said...still be good to know if it has rhe bowes. Clamps and window trim as that may be what someone is looking for .. and your avenue to get them to remove it from your yard ;-)

    getting door to close nice

Yes the door has a 2 stage latch.. the outer like a safety. You can adjust the 2 tooth catch on the B post further towards the outside of the body and see if that gets you locked in... also check the dove tail in the door and the sprung brass sliding wedge on the base of the dovetail.

hardtop 1961, no plexi, Hardwick Mass

Assuming its for sale... price? Does it have the headliner... or the headliner bowes? Front screen clamps? B Post brackets and bolts? Do you have the stainless rear window trim?

1962 Le Mans Oil Cooler Installation

Everyone has one and they all stink. That's a-holes ... not oil coolers ;-)

1962 Le Mans Oil Cooler Installation

If the radiator cooling isnt marginal.. probably ok...but inmote most racers used to hang them down and the SV one obstructed a lot less.

    Oil cooler kit

I believe if you use both later parts together on a early car its fine. You just cant mix and match early and late filter block and cooler block.

    Sunbeam Alpine parts

15" Cobra ( faux Halibrand) after market wheels?

The tyres front rear appear to be wider than the rims you can see the sidewalls extended beyond the rim edge...you see the taper of the rubber inward to the rim edge. Also the tyres block the view of the rim. If the rim was wider youd see the rim edge around the interface

    Brabham connection

This was on a car recently found. A bit different to the tags I've seen on hillamans and some triumphs. This is an early Alpine.

    Brabham connection

Doane advertised 128hp iirc in 1963... My 1592 on twin SU did put down 104.3 at the wheels... decent DCOE webers would probably add maybe 10 to that.... I know some modern race 1592+ claim 150... assume that's gross flywheel.

    Brabham connection

There was a nice artcile in period about Chris and his tiger in Europe driving to F1 and other events. He apparently owned the car for a year before he realised it had a soft top as he never took the hardtop off. The first Alpine raced in New Zealand by Bob Stewart had a brabham prepared engine...

Gas cap - vented Series 2

Im totally lost on what your saying... The triumph motorcycle gas cap was the same as used on the same as the series 3 cap.. which was round with a square edge and ribbed side finish..

15" Cobra ( faux Halibrand) after market wheels?

I just looked at the photos. The width has nothing to do with ride height.. only track.. wheel dia and tyre sidewall will impact the ride height. Looking at the photo no way they are 9" on the front.. and i doubt on the rear.. the wheels look aligned to the edge of the lips front and rear...
