    Steering box

Thanks for the kind words, Andrew. The only RHD steering box/column I have is from a Series IV and tho I've heard of guys who switched early steering to later, it will require a few different parts. "A lot of freeplay" in the steering is subjective, especially since he is a new owner of the SII...

    SV rear cross-over brake line

Rootes offered the self-adjusting brakes beginning with SV production but bailed on the idea about midway.

SV GT trim or ST rear bulkhead

Thanks for the complement, Mike. BTW, the (better) set you chose might be a bit unsightly but still have the correct contour and soft padding as original. Were it me, I'd leave them as-is and reupholster them as they are. To the best of my knowledge, no one on the planet offers restored...

    Barn find Sunbeam in Pennsylvania

So, about 2 weeks ago this 'Beam popped up on Craigslist near Plainfield PA but was gone before I had a chance. The pics weren't great, but it could have been a B947 NKI Tiger. Anybody on here score this car or know the current (new) whereabouts?

    Now what? Oil in headers

Agreed! Consider that the new seals and gaskets that Steve (sunalp) mentioned have not yet the chance to 'bed' in and that built-up condensation has yet to burn off. Further, you mentioned when we spoke yesterday that the motor has about +/- 20 minutes run time, both free-moving as well as...

    Now what? Oil in headers

Marty, did the placement of the locating rings and allowing the engine to breathe better not cure most of the problems? The opening on the timing cover that we discovered wouldn't contribute to the smoke and leaching of oil you described yesterday. Mark

    SV OD dash light?

Agreed with Peter. But if you look at the reverse of the SV dashboard you notice a very faint outline between the tach and AMPS gauge (or delete) where the overdrive lamp once was on the Series IV. The SIV had a greyish colored OD lamp that matched the flipper-type blue and green lamps found to...

    Need L.H. wire wheel hub

Fronts and rears will suffer equally if the spinners aren't fitted tightly. A mistake guys often make is tightening them with the wheel on the ground as the contact keeps the wheel from turning.

Genuine or faux Tiger? 382002182 B382002182

It's worth mentioning that, unlike SAOCA, I believe STOA website content isn't available to just anyone. Only dues-paying members can access forums. There have been a few cryptic, unflattering references in this thread to an individual who was once a SAOCA member. In 2020, the SAOCA Board...

Genuine or faux Tiger? 382002182 B382002182

Agreed Michael! My point in mentioning this car — or even the FastLane Alger last month — is not to bash a car. Rather, my intent is to point out cars that are legitimately questionable in authenticity. Tho the car above has quite a few Alpine characteristics that are different than Tiger, it...

    Sunbeam Specialties Catalog Prices

Well, you make a good point, Michael, but that the catalogue cover page is dated Sept. 2021, doesn't necessarily mean the prices are 3 years outdated, too. It's reasonable that they have the means to edit details, descriptions and prices line-by-line. It'd be worth the time for someone to...

Genuine or faux Tiger? 382002182 B382002182

This car was brought up on the FB Sunbeam Tiger group and, in just the 3 pics on the seller’s site, it obviously presents as a V8 clone, not an authentic Tiger. Since no was price listed and buyers were directed to inquire for details, I emailed Paramount Classic Cars in Hickory NC and requested...
