    B395014072

Still has the dealership sticker from Wilkinsburg Pa. The car body looks good, just the exhaust system looks like it came from Pa. My Pa. car's bottom half looked like the exhaust system before restoration in 2012.

Don't know what that filler tube came from. Here's a pic of a SIII filler tube.

    1962 Series 2 - Cylinder Head Hardware

The longer stud would be for the engine lift bracket. Once the longer stud in back of the head is torqued there is room for the lift bracket to be an anchor to pull the engine.

    Spark Plug Wire Reccomendations

I always wondered which type of cables were best - solid copper conductor or resistance wires, especially for electronic conversion distributers.

Just curious, is there a difference between the 1725 and 1592 rocker/pushrod assemblys?

    Weber Fuel Bowl Running Empty

Sounds like there's blockage or a kink in the line somewhere. Gas will seep in the line to the pump for a good first flow. I had a fleck of debris in the fuel tank output that acted like a butterfly valve.

    Jerking While Driving and... Stall

I had the same problem on a series II with a cleaned and coated tank and electric pump. After a fill-up within a mile the car would almost die then catch itself and ran great till the next fill-up. This went on for a year then was getting worse. Finally died and wouldn't start untill I blew...

looking for turn signal for 63 series 2

I don't think there is a rebuild kit for the series 2. Please be more specific and what other parts you need as Michael said.

    Flame Trap

I thought most modern oils have detergent that is supposed to clean and prevent sludge. I know the transmissions specifically call for 30W non-detergent, but that's a different animal. I must be wrong, but I thought a PCV (closed crank system) would cause more sludge than a free breathing system.

    Automatic Transmission Problems

Bought 2 cases of AMALIE Ford Type F Automatic Transmission Fluid. First fluid fill got burnt (about 8 qts.) My daughter knows a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy that will look at the transmission. Took the tranny to him yesterday.

    Vacuum Leak Areas?

Spray carb cleaner around the carb base and intake manifold while engine is idling. Any leak there will show a major change in engine speed.

    Automatic Transmission Problems

I thought if things slip the engine would race, not bog down. Ran stall test - under 2k rpm (approx 1850) Rootes stall test data: (rpm) 1850 normal under 1500 poor engine under 1000 stator oneway clutch slipping over 2000 trans or converter slipping another passing test.

    Automatic Transmission Problems

Update - Disassembled transmission again and everything still looks new. With Doug and my daughter helping, we went thru the wsm139 manual line by line putting everything together torquing and adjusting to book specs. Also did the air pressure tests that worked as described. Tested again on...

    Rear wheel cylinders

Series III "Christine". When testing the automatic transmission (again), it was hard to stop the rear tires on the jack stands. When pulling the drums, everything was soaked in brake fluid (both drums), but never leaked on the floor. I have two new wheel cylinders marked Series 3-5, tiger...

    Slow start

I had the same problem after rebuilding the original fuel pump. It started good cold but wouldn't start warm. After shut-off there were lots of bubbles in the pumps glass bowl (like it's boiling), even after running one minute (still cold). It stops bubbling if I pinch the rubber fuel line, so I...

Replace freeze plugs with engine in place

#4 cylinder always gets the least water flow and debris builds up there. The last 1724 rebuild I did on an engine stand, popped all plugs and had crud up to the bottom of #4 cylinders back plug. It took a lot of work chipping out all the hardened crud and I found a head water jet in the bottom...
