Less than two weeks and almost all of the rooms in the reserved block are booked. We're trying to increase the room numbers, but no guarantees, so book it now if you want to stay at the host hotel...... At this rate we are starting to think we may hit triple digits in Sunbeam and Rootes cars at our concours at British Car Day. Bigger turnout than SUNI? Maybe....

UNITED 39 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
Oakville, Ontario, Canada
September 15-18, 2022
Attendance is expected from all over North America. The organizers for British Car Day are anticipating the largest group of British cars ever, and that is saying a lot as they have hit over 1200 cars and 9,000 visitors in the past. They have reserved spaces for 100 Sunbeam and Rootes cars and we intend to fill them all! Don't miss this event! The host hotel is nearly full.... https://www.teae.org/united-39-ontario-canada/

I continue to prepare for this event, with new wrinkles. One, I have a dog now; "Pearl" is five months old. Canada had some kind of Rabies outbreak, so, documented rabies vaccination is a must. The Vet gave her all her shots, but thinks they may require something else.Pearl.jpg
There are changes in regulations for air travelers as of July 14, 2022 (https://www.canada.ca/en/public-hea...g-offsite-of-airports-for-air-travellers.html). This seems to stiffen their requirement of vaccination.....It is uncertain I can attend.

Don't worry about the airport regulations as they are different than land border crossings and that update you quoted doesn't apply when you are driving in. All you need to do is fill in the free ArriveCan form online or download the App, where you enter your passport number and proof that you had 2 Covid shots. Once you complete the form, which can be done anytime, you have to go back to your account within 72 two hours of crossing the border and answer a few simple questions regarding any covid symptoms. You will get a receipt which you can print or save on your phone. My experience, twice in the last two months crossing from the U.S. into Canada is they don't even ask for it. It actually has sped up the border crossing as they will scan your passport as they usually do, and immediately see that you registered through ArriveCAN, which shortens the process. In the last two crossings I was through the booth in under two minutes. This link explains ArriveCAN and you can register: https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html With respect to your dog, here is the link: https://inspection.canada.ca/importing-food-plants-or-animals/pets/eng/1326600389775/1326600500578 I don't have a pet, but as I read it, all you need is a certificate your dog had a rabies shot, and some proof the dog is yours, in case they ask for it. WE DO NOT HAVE A RABIES OUTBREAK. Canada has had the rabies shot requirement for dogs as long as I can remember as it was an issue in the 70's in certain parts of Ontario. Rabies is very rare and something nobody even thinks of around here. Crossing the border is nothing to fear!!
