omitting windscreen trim

Is it imperative to use the stainless windscreen trim? Want to use just the painted windscreen frame if possible.
Thanks

Never seen anyone do it. You will find that without the top stainless at least in place, the soft top has nothing to seal against and a large amount of strength for the windshield frame goes away.

Sandblast and powdercoat body color what I did.

How about trimming off the stupid forward facing useless gutter that makes an obscene amount of wind noise. It's not just the rag in rag top flopping.

Well, got it all together and not at all happy with results. Windscreen seal doesn't fit with a crap, next time will try a seal from SS. Or maybe just modify the frame and glue the windshield in with urethane.
Thanks for the input!
