Plan to pull the drive train out this summer.
Here is my really dumb question....
Are my standard tools qualified for the job?
Meaning the tools I use on all my other old American vehicles?
Thanks

4 hour engine pull with standard tools

I can pull my engine in 4 hours with just the tools i carry in my trunk in a small bag, pretty much standard tools is all you need..That's the beauty of a classic like these....

As beamdream says...socket set and extensions and a full set of wrenches and you can do anything on the car. barring a few gear pulling tools etc...

Thanks for the info on the tools! Hope to yank it as soon as possible and get it going again soon! Then on to rebuilding those old shocks.

If you're removing the engine and trans as a unit, it's good to have one of those 'load balancers' that allows you to adjust approach angle with a crank. And a skateboard. You may already have both.

My uncle used to do Travalalls back in the 70s. Always dark green, 4WD. Always got him back from where he went.

While stationed in Alaska June '72 - July '77 I had two International 1200 4wd, a '64 and a '68 with Ramsey winches and three fuel tanks. Made some extreme use bumpers out of railroad iron. Most folk got outa-the-way of those ugly things.

I went about anywhere I wanted and always got out without calling a wrecker or needing other help.

My main hunting and fishing buddy was Bill Dickerson, an old Air Force Aircraft Sheet Metal Guy....taught me how to utilize the winch with a block and tackle....''Loved them rugged vehicles".
