OK, Although I don't have one I am told (and have seen photos) that the repro fender badges are not at all accurate.'Looky likeys is a better description. That sort of Korean crap pisses me off. It's as easy to make a true copy as a bad copy.

So, I have engaged a UK specialist to make exact copies to the last detail. I have sent them pics (thanks to Jan Iggbom aka ' Harrington Joda' ;)of the real thing and they ate it for breakfast. All I need from one of YOU is an original to copy. I will pay all shipping and insurance to and from. Also I will give you 2 pairs free as a thank you.

I hope someone out there can assist. results in 4 weeks.

While i cant help with the supply of an original.. I commend you on your efforts to do them right.. you are right on why people cheap out during production on things like badges and make them incorrectly when its very little difference to do them right.

The sunbeam community is often blighted by "close enough"

I have I sent you a PM. I have an original badge for the task mentioned below I will send you. Yes, the repo is different. The Harrington/England lettering and raised outline is smaller as well as the yellow color is lighter.

Some kids with a knife pried it off the front and scratched the paint...Lucky i never caught them.

Anyway i would be interested in one too..I have a repro and i cant tell how original its supposed to look but i kinda felt it is just not right....let us all know when they get completed!

i think you might be thinking the wrong badge... are you referring to the SI/II bonnet badge?

These guys are looking into repro'ing the Harrington badges that go just in front of the leading edge of the door on the front guard, the the "ROOTES GROUP SUNBEAM" bonnet badge.

I commend you on your efforts. Years I had a '65 Corvette in my shop a friend was restoring. Some parts came from a repro supplier and as he opened them he said the most profound thing I have ever heard referring to reproduction parts. I have repeated it many times.

"In the catalog it says this is Exact as original, if they wanted to be honest it would say Similar to original, can be used if nothing else is available."

I'd say that's as profound as it gets.
