A while ago I got a "poor man's soda blaster", a siphon blow gun. Since I was cleaning up a couple of old carbs, I blasted them, inside and out. After reassembly, the rotating parts (especially accelerator pumps) were extremely sticky. I think they moved nicely before blasting. Assuming I got a bunch of soda in the bushings, I soaked them in hot water. They move much more freely now but not as easily as I think they should. If I were to oil the moving parts I'm sure they would work great. However most lubes are soluble in gasoline and probably wouldn't last.
Will gasoline lube these parts or is there a non-petroleum based lube (silicon maybe) that would last in a gasoline saturated environment? Ideally a grease-like product that might reduce air leakage through the rotating parts.
