I have several of the Mutt II Alternator Brackets, but none like this one.

Just found this that looks like mine, but "letter" code is an "H" not a "B".

FORD/Mercury Mustang. OEM V8 ALTERNATOR Bracket C2OE-10039-H CAST IRON

Ford did not use an Alternator with a C2XX bracket number.

Alternators were not on Ford products until 1963 Lincolns.

And not on standard Fords until 1965 models.

Not being able to see all sides, It looks like it MAY be a Tiger Generator bracket.

If not Tiger, STD Ford small block Gen bracket.

Standard Ford Gen brackets have a different offset, front to back compared with Tiger brackets.

Standard Ford brackets have a rectangular hole for the dipstick that Tigers brackets don't have.

Also known as another 6 lbs on top of the axle...
I suspect a lot of us tossed a generator in the bin regularly.
Not bad as a door stop. What's harder to come by is the stock Tiger pulley.

Some Tiger/Ford (Ford Industrial) part numbers info found on the web:

Part numbers:

Crank pulley C4JZ-6312-A
Water pump pulley C4JZ-8509-A

Generator Bracket C4JZ-10039-A up to B9471618
C4JZ-10039-B from B9471618

Adjusting Arm C4JZ-10145-A
Generator Pulley C20F-10130-A

** disclaimer, Ford "part numbers" and "casting/ID numbers" are not always the same.**

AND, some Ford parts have more than one part number and/or a superseded number.

Barry, The part number on my piece ends clearly with a "B" Not an "H"

They do look alike. Perhaps they are for the same application.
The letter at the end of an early Ford part number is the suffix, which refers to the version or reversion of the part. Below is a link that pretty well explains part numbers. Kinda long read but the suffix is explained near the bottom.
