donchiotos,

Check out this reply Dan R gave in another thread. If you aren't sure about your hoses being correctly routed, then you should contact and discuss your routing with Dan.

These comments are not directly related to the vents but does impact the cooling: Recently a gent was trying to figure why his newly acquired v6 was running too warm (hot) for his desires. The by-pass hose was plugged at the intake and the heater hose was connected directly to the By-pass housing on the rear of the timing cover. His thermostat housing heater hose connection had been plugged off.

FORD has a specifically detailed routing for the water passages, His was not done accordingly. He has since re-routed and has a better cooling thus far.

If your car fails the water circulation test, the thermostat becomes the #1 suspect. I would remove the 'stat, place it in a pan of water. Place the pan on the stove and add heat. The stat should be wide open before the water boils. Place a cooking thermometer in the water just for jollies. If the 'stat passes, you have a plumbing problem. Those could be a clogged radiator, collapsed hose or wrong water flow. I think there is a greater chance of having a bad water pump than the wrong pump. A small pump should be effective under most circumstances.

Could be trapped air too. Put the front of the car on ramps to get the radiator higher. Open the heater valve and fill until engine warms up.

Is one of the heater hoses high enough to install an air bleed valve like the one in the picture?
