Tutorial: Quoting in Replies

I thought it would be nice to start a fun little tutorial series to help folks navigate the new site more easily. In this edition, I'll teach you how to reply to a post and quote just part of it.

Replying to a post has always been a thing, new site, old site, everywhere. But now, it's smarter and better. On the old site, when you clicked to reply to the post, it would quote the previous post in its entirety. Now, you can select just the part that you actually want to quote.

1. Select some words.
When you make a selection, in most modern browsers, you'll get a little "Reply" button that pops up. Click it instead of the reply link at the bottom, and it'll grab just the selected part.

2. Type your reply.
Then, down in the area where you type your reply, it'll show just the part that you selected. And you can do it multiple times: select a part, click reply, scroll back up and select another part, click reply again. You'll end up with this:

That's it.

What else would you like a tutorial on? (It might be nice to practice the selection thing by select-quoting my question.)

Very cool Greg. I had no idea that you could do it that way. This new site continues to impress!
