I was hoping to avoid the large price tag on Sunbeam Specialties but haven't checked Classic Sunbeam yet. Thanks for the tip! *** Both are the same price. I was hoping to find a better deal here. ***They're available new from either Classic Sunbeam or Sunbeam Specialties.
Sort of a false economy... Most SH ones are pitted or the threads in the posts are stripped or cracked and need a helicoil.
Unless you want avg quality or some you have to rechrome its better to buy the repros.
A very good set of originals are probably not that much cheaper after you take into account refinishing.
Looking for one or two trunk hinges. One of mine is stripped. UGH!
Yes and they have been going back to the hinges installed on Jean's blue car back in 95. Don't know much prior to that. Are the reproduction hinges correctly handed now? When first made, they were not and the fit was bad. Eric
If you intend to do something of that nature why not fill the opening with two part clear epoxy, let it set, drill and tap. Been there, done that.Just use blue Loctite
