I am thinking that it would be OK to skip the installation of the timing chain oil tube and simply plug the hole that feeds this pipe.
Just guessing but there has to be enough oil vapor and splash inside the block to keep the chain lubed in a race motor. Any thoughts? It would be one less item the pump has to supply oil too - not that it is that much oil flow but I really don't see a point in the chain tube.
If I remember correctly... the Sports Car Forum Alpine has the line pinched off at the tip.
Next would be to simply blank off the tube return hole in the block and minimize pressure build up in the timing cover. (seen in the tunning guide)
