The factory used 10-32 x 1/2" hex bolts for the window channels, and not pan head screws. It makes it much easier to remove & install

Presumably for the lower fixings that you access through the holes in the bottom of the door. As you say they would be easier to remove and install.

Well, there is one fastener (inside at the top of the front channel) that requires a wrench. Also, the hex head makes it easier to remove a stubborn fastener.

Yes this car had the original style hex head bolt holding the top of the front channel in (it is shown in the video) but elsewhere there were pan head screws. Soon there will be hex heads all round!
