Spring advice

What became of this thread?

I probably need to do something with my rear springs too... car sits a bit low in back. Nothing broken.

I was wondering if a guy could use the hydraulic press in the shop at work to put a bit more arch back in them. Any comments?

I thougth this spring arch thing was something specialists were known to do. Having springs re-arched was a common thing back when I was still a regular in Alpine circles. Maybe since leaf springs aren't as common it's becoming a rarity to find a specialist?

I found this thread was just starting to get interesting when I came up on gordonra's final comment......there is lot 'to' this stuff and the guys racing them not only have a lot of info on this (which shouldn't be THAT much of a trade secret) but could share some tradesman info on who does spring work and even share a few details on lowering to help guys with road cars that are only interested in autocrossing or occasional track days.

I may not have a runner currently but it was suspension I was looking at getting into deeper for many a year before it became a garage rat. I got the 7/8 front bar on poly bushings and added the rear bar (on same) but beyond Koni and spax shocks I never did anything (regrettably) with the springs. I'd sure like to know a little more.....
