Series 5 Rear View Mirror Glass

I received the glass today. It looks like good quality. I think what I am going to do is somehow glue the glass in the metal frame and call it good. The plastic part, although stock, could be bypassed with some glued on spacers directly glued to the metal and mirror. The metal wraps around the mirror real tight and I like the look.

If you found a very slim U shaped rubber orofile you could put that on the edge of the mirror body to isolate the glass from the edge to help with vibration and potential damage or moisture getting between the glass and silvering. ;-)

You could go to one of the big box parts stores such as Auto Zone, Advance, etc. and buy one of the push on trims for use on the edges of car doors. They carry various colors.
