why is it people put music over the sound of the engines? and in this case.. muted the car sounds totaly... i would preffer to hear your exhaust as you pull away.. and the engine note of the camerra car...

apart from that.. looks like great fun!

michael,
you would have to be there as we were to fully understand the weekend. the music fits in with the festivities and the events. remember that the races are being run in the streets of a city park, not on a track. the british show vendors and participents were held up from going into the show area due to the rain. the car shows are held on the golf course. not your usual event you may be used to.

I agree with Michael. But, what fun! What happened at the 8 minute mark when you slipped some. Did you miss a gear? I woudl love to see pictures of you car. Car you post some for us to see?

have been to many classic motorsport events.. track based, motor racing in public spaces, shows etc.. while music is all well and good as a side show if i watch onboard footage of race cars i would liek to hear the cars... then again.. thats just me.. i guess the difference is in my youth there werent silent films with bands playing up the front.. we like to hear the sound related to the picture ;)

That is a really good video. I'll bet engine and road noise would have been really good. I didn't see a squeaky new section of pavement anywhere.

this entire event is about the money raised for the allegheny valley school and the pittsburgh chapter of the national autistic society. it's just not your typical race or car event that you think about michael. broaden your horizons and think past the only thing in your life which seems to be cars. when you see an autitic child maybe you will understand!

Bob.. for starters I think you mean autistic child... and as a friend of mine has a 3 year old with autism I know quite a bit about it.

I guess what i am not being symapthetic to is senility, I made a coment about the fact the incar footage from the race car has music and no car sounds.. and the fact that it seems to be a trend on some youtube clips...

You for some reason go off on another tangent to try and start a petty fight.. everyone knows on this baord no matter what i write you will try and disagree.. it's just who you are... if i say the world is round.. you would argue its flat.. then again when you were in school that was probably what they taught. :cool:

I agree that the engine sounds would have been great
I was turning 7300 rpms in some of those turns when in second gear
I will ask Nile if he has the vid without the music
We allso had a race car parade through town and like 75 race parked up and down the street then a rather quick pace police escort back about and hour later

My buddy and i allso did the race at beaver run the week prior ,which is a great fast paced track ,then went Motorcycle riding four days in between around Pa.

Hope to see some of you with your race cars at Limerock Vintage Festival
