Reverse Light Switch - Shims

Good evening Sunbeamers...

I have my reverse lights installed and wired on my Series V.

The only issue is that any gear on the right side of the box lights them up, so from researching the forum, I know I need shims.

So my question is what to use for shims?
I didn’t see anything but the washers on the parts sites.
Do you just stack the washers (I know they are thin)?

In any case, what can I pick up locally that will work?

I support the parts suppliers regularly but I hate to pay shipping on what will probably be less than $2 in product.

Any suggestions or input is as always appreciated.

Check with your local bearing / seal shop. they will have shims in multiple thicknesses.

Which side of the gearbox did you install the switch?

The switch goes on the left side

It’s installed on the left side, opposite the OD switch.

Go to an automotive machine shop and get valve spring shims
