Rear brake cylinders

Is there a trick to getting the pistons back in the cylinder bores with new washers fitted ? I did not think this would be the most frustrating part of dealing with my rear brakes.

If you have some brake grease smear a bit on the seals. That's brake assembly grease, not regular grease. Failing that, wipe them with a bit of brake fluid, that should get them to slide in.
