Pilot shaft adapter for the V6

Here are a few measurements on the V6 Cologne engine; Mustang II Bell Housing: Mustang II Fly Wheel and the Late Model Mustang T5 transmission 1352-238

Here is a picture of the measurement (s):

V6 1st PIC Using a straight edge from the Mutt II bell housing to Late Mustang T5 1352-238 you can see the end of pilot shaft spud extends beyond the bell housing toward the fly wheel by 1/2 inch.
V6 2nd PIC Again using a straight edge on the Mutt II flywheel face I measured to face of the crank hub where the six bolts retain the fly wheel to the crank shaft hub = 1 3/8 inch.
V6 3rd PIC Deleted
V6 4th PIC is a better view of what is described in the 2ndPICflywheel face to crank hub face 1 and 3 eight inch
V6 5th PIC Measuring from the flywheel face into crank hub recessed hole = 3 inch deep
V6 PIC Rear engine block edge where the bell housing mates to the Flywheel face = 1 9/16"

As I figure the measurements, if correct, using the T5 1352-238 with the input shaft unmodified in length approximately 1/8 of an inch is all a stock pilot bearing will provide support.

The reason for the "adapter" is to give additional support ensuring a long life to your T5 and eliminating any undue mechanical problems with the clutch disc, release bearing, flywheel, etc.

I will add more comments shortly,

Dan, The adapter is a good idea. For those who don't know the 94-04 T5 input shaft is 11/16" longer than the 83-93 versions. You may want to make another adapter 11/16" thicker to allow the older T5's to work also.

Dan the V6 is the same as the 94 and 95 V8. 83 -93 V8 are the shorter length. So your spacer fits the 83-93 V8 and the longer V6 and 94 and 95 V8 don't need a spacer. Just clarifying for others.
