Gayla Gets A Sunbeam

Is there someplace on this site that I can go look at pics of peoples modified Sunbeams?

Hi Gayla! I bought an Alpine with a V6 and automatic transmission earlier this year. I'm just in the process of rebuilding the engine and installing a standard transmission in it. If there's anything in particular that you'd like a picture of please let me know.

Mark,
It sounds like you have a fun project ahead of you.

We are trying to get a feel for how different things will look on our Series IV. We are thinking of modifying the dashboard, and steering wheel. The whole interior will need re-doing, so I'm trying to get ideas. If you have any pics I would love to take a look. This thread has some nice pics of someones interior: http://www.saoca.org/protected/forum/showthread.php?t=1639

Mine are at:

It is a work in progress. It is almost completely stripped now.

Don't think that I can be of much help to you Gayla. The interior of my car is currently a mess. I had to pull the seats and carpets in order to enlarge the tunnel for the new transmission. Not a pretty picture!

Gayla, keep in mind the factory finish on the dash is simply a piece of plastic that can be easily stripped off and replaced with whatever you like. Wood, plastic, paint. Even saw a site that sells spot-faced panels that would glue on very nicely (think of the engine cowl on "The Spirit of St. Louis") The existing holes can be filled or new ones drilled. A lot can be done.

Hi Gayla,

It all depends upon what your tastes are and how much money you wish to spend. Do you want a classic, sport or modern look? There have been a few interior photo's posted on the forum in the past, but finding them can be tricky. Maybe members can post some photo's of their workmanship for you. Have a look at a tan interior instead of the standard black (if you like tan of course).
Keep us posted with your project and good luck,

Regards, Robin.
