I have a silly idea you can try if you find yourself back in cold weather and you are still having starting challenges... you could use a hair dryer to heat up a single component to see if it makes any difference in starting.

Well that is a heck of an idea. I will try that out!

I am going to have to learn to use a vacuum gauge.

Using the brake booster hose was a suitable source for vacuum, hooked up the Vac guage and moved the distributor to get a steady 20 inches at idle then road tested. Every car is different but this should put you in the ball park.

While I don't have a brake booster,I figured I would use that opening and try it. Watched a You Tube so am now an expert...

Whilst I don't ignore the manufacturers specs, with so many differences in fuels etc today, I do find the use of a vac guage a more satisfactory way of tuning. If you have a lumpy cam however, that`s a different matter.
