Overdrive Relay

Chris, send me your e-mail via PM and I will send the document. The relay you can buy from Alpine Innovations uses the same circuit as I use ( I think they took the idea from my posts) but they put the resistor and diode inside the case which makes it a bit cleaner fit. But my kit of parts includes all the piggyback connectors so you do not need to make any changes at all to the original wiring, while using our own common relay. I think I have attached the document!

The original realy is not ground sensitive so it suits cars with both positve and negative earth.
On the other hand the relay Alpine Innovations is selling is ground sensitive!
The original Lucas relay number is 33199 and the character behind this number only shows which issue it concerns. The higher the character the later issue is concerned. I bought some time ago on Ebay a new relay (in the original Lucas box) with number 33199 J.
All the relays with any of the characters behind the number will do the job.
And yes beside the Alpines this relay was only used with some of the Ferrrari's.

Peter

I have emailed both of these companies asking to buy the SRB 111. Give me a price based on shipping to Calif. NO RESPONSE.

Ridiculous price only because it concerns a Ferrari!
The relay from Alpine Innovations is a good one and yes it happens that they don't respond for a time, the reason is often that Jerome Senn one of the two owners of this company is often travelling around the world and he is the one who takes care of responding to emails.
By the way it is also possible to alter a normal relay in order to work as a self cancelling one. How to do this is explained by Sunbeam Owners Club in the UK in the magazine named "The Alpine Horn". And also Tom H. (Hayden) an electronica experts and also one of the regular posters on this form has explained how he does this conversion. So no need to pay this idiot prices that some people are asking for this simple relay.

Regards,

Peter
