Oil Pressure Relief Valve

Hey everyone,

I'm having problems with an intermittent loss of oil pressure, and I think my pressure relief valve is the culprit. Does anyone have a working valve they'd be willing to sell me? My car has the Series V oil filter base with a modern disposable filter and an oil cooler. If nobody has one of those valves, I suppose I'd also be willing to purchase a new filter base. I would like to keep the oil cooler, however.

Come on, fellas, help me out here. someone has to know somewhere I can get a good OPR valve. How about one for a later Hillman Hunter or Sunbeam Arrow? Does anybody know any vendors who sell those parts?

I don't think I have a valve, will look, but I think the S V OPR valves changed 3 or 4 times so you may need to determine which base you have, in order to obtain the correct valve, or post a pic of the valve you now use/need. Your best bet may be to find a used base with valve included.

They can be cleaned; there is a thread with how to clean them. I believe that one member had a machine shop make a new, harder piston which sounds like a good option.
