Motor Oil with ZDDP

That, my dear Bill, is a fallacy known as reductio ad absurdum. Using the same "logic;" if 7,000 miles works for you, why not see if you can stretch it out to 15,000? After all, you would save enough by missing the extra oil and filter change for - say - a tow when your engine seizes.

Guys, I really didn't raise this issue to get everyone's dander up and have everyone arguing.

I just wondered - and am STILL wondering - if anyone else has tried this Castrol "classic car" oil?

Speaking personally, I don't have my dander up. Or anything else. Bill and I have been poking each other (speaking metaphorically) for the best part of a decade.

kevin,
this castrol is a newer version of the syntec 20/50. it appears that they added a cold flow improver and a modified additive package to come up with a 5/50. it's still a 50 oil with the properties of a 5 in cold temps. i'm avoiding using the term "weight" for nick's benefit.
