Very different. Wider housing ,with Lockheed brakes. You only want the gears.

Looks pretty iffy, supporting the whole car on soft ground in the junk yard. If you have a good axle-puller, it may be easier and safer to remove the axles in place and then remove the diff from the housing, rather than wrestling the whole assembly from under the car.

The reference I found states the Hillman Hunter has a rear track width of 52 inches. That should mean the rear is on the order of four inches wider than the 48 inch rear track Series Alpines rear axles.

Hmm. Given I’ve got a (very) bum right arm, breaking down a whole rear again (I recently did mine) is gonna be pretty impossible for me. Sadly, if it was a straight swap-out I might have been able to swing it, but given the manual work involved I have to let this one pass. Thanks though!
