To all new forum participants...

First off, welcome to the SAOCA forum. We hope you find everything you're looking for to make owning and driving your Sunbeam a great experience.

Please take a moment to add your car's information to our Registry. After you gather your car's VIN, Engine number, and SAL, it's just a minute to enter the data here:

http://www.sunbeamalpine.org/index.php?categoryid=17

...and fire off your Registry information. We'll be pushing out a new update in early September, so now's good!

This info helps chart the working life of our Alpines, and serves as a listing for those parts cars that have given so much of themselves that others may live. (There's no cost or obligation, and it's not a requirement -- it's just a list.)

You may also consider adding some of that info to your signature on the forum... perhaps listing the year, series, serial number, whether you have an OD transmission, replacement carbs, electronic ignition, non-Alpine engine or transmission, or other significant modifications. That often helps those who may be assisting you to work through the occasional Alpine issue.

When you're working through an issue with your car, also take a moment to search the forum for information on what others have done to fix that particular problem. There's lots of history and expertise available here, either by using the standard search utility, or using a Google site search.
Just enter this -- site:sunbeamalpine.org -- along with your search terms when using the standard Google search homepage. (Note that this is handy for searching the three-letter words that are not searchable with the forum's search function. Handy words, like oil, gas, nut, top... stuff like that.)

Also, at the top of this page is a link, under Technical Data, to downloadable Service, Owner's, and Parts manuals, a few other goodies. The Service Manuals are also available as printed books, from some of the vendors listed on the home page. They're well worth the small investment.

Finally, check out the "Invasion" link at the top right of this page. The Invasion is our "annual-ish" get-together, where folks discuss, tinker with, and drive their Sunbeams. There are tech demonstrations, scenic drives, tours, plus food, drink, and discussion with fellow Sunbeam folks. The upcoming Invasion is in Nashville, Tennessee starting October 11th. Important note: you're welcome, and encouraged to come even if your Sunbeam isn't 'on the road' yet. Still lots to learn, and it's likely we can find empty seats for everyone to get around in style. So, click on the link and check it out.

And of course, we always hope that you'll like what you see and learn here enough to consider becoming a supporting member. Just check out the "Donate" link at the top right of this page.

That's all for now -- happy motoring!
