heater valve

The inside of my Alpine get unbearable hot during hot days. I have the floors covered in heat resistant material and the holes in the firewall plugged. I am thinking of removing the water valve to prevent any water going to the heater. I assume that it is working but it gets very hot inside. Any thought?

What Series car? Alpine Innovations sell a replacement Series V valve that totally cuts off any heat transfer.

If the heater valve is working no water should come through the heater matrix.

Im surprised the alpine gets the interior that hot.. Tbis a rootes motor not a v6 or v8?

Feel The heater hoses, one should be cooler than the other. In my experience the valves never really shut off..... the other thing that helped me is wrapping the exhaust pipes with "header wrap"
