Going to look at an Alpine

I don't know how you feel about the earlier cars, but this isn't too far from you and looks like a pretty good starting point. You have to be careful about a car that has been primed like this, but the fact that the floors appear solid is comforting. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Othe...1902149?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2a2a83b945

Yup, I was just looking at it. Looks much better than what I was looking at earlier, condition wise, plus it has a roll bar my son wanted already added. The only worry is the seller doesn't have the title and a non-titled car in Texas was always a nightmare in the past. It looks like it has gotten a little better than it used to be, but you have to have a bonded title that is 1.5x the value of the car, that added to the shipping of a non running car my say $500 car could turn into $1600 really quickly. I am asking questions though. If he can do the title as cheaply as he claims and the bids don't go too high, maybe. I am very seriously considering it. ~ Thanks for the heads up though.

Looks like so much work, just be ready to not quit. On the bright side your son will appreciate you and the car forever

I've come across a shell of a 1960 Alpine that a fella is looking to sell. The price is cheap and I am looking for a project for me and my son (just turned 14yrs). I've only seen a few pictures of the car and have yet to kick the discount tires. No engine so I was thinking of going v6 Jose's route, has the removable hard top, not sure on the floors. The lower front valance is bent in. Looks like one of the seats is missing. Any advice on troubles you see or what to look for?
