Engine Mounts for the 2.8 V6 Mustang II engine in an Alpine

Along with the Straight-back Headers, I am offering Engine Mounting Brackets for the 2.8 V6 Mustang II engine installation in an Alpine. Some PIC's are upload, otherwise E-mail: tiger 2 dan at g mail dot com.(no spaces).

I've been asked if my Straight-back Headers for the 2.8 V6 will fit on an Alpine with the jose kit!

My headers fit on my '65 SIV GT BW35 Alpine that had the jose "washers with the welded nut" which came with the "kit" I bought. However I must explain that one of the reasons I decided to make my own was that I did not like the way the jose engine mount brackets sat on the back edge of the crossmember so I designed a "foot" to the engine bracket "similar" to his, that would allow the "washer w/nut" from his kit to sit further forward by about 1 1/2" to 2" from the backside of the crossmember giving more support to the engine and like wise eliminating additional welding of a piece of exhaust pipe to the back edge of the crossmember.

Being accused of violating property rights, I discarded this design with the "big foot" and went to my 2nd Generation Engine Bracket (PIC's available).

That being said, My '65 SIV GT BW35 does not have an extension of any sort on the back edge of the crossmember because the "kit washer" was fitted utilizing my modified "foot". When I installed the "Bottom Piece" of my bracket which slipped over the "kit washer" I welded it in place without the engine and T5 transmission changing positions.

Jose's headers fit my car as far as clearance goes with his" kit washer" welded as stated above. They also fit with my Mock-up Engine & T5 hooked to my Engine Brackets. Later, I utilized this car with everything in place while designing and building my straight-back headers.

If you had that problem and resolved it by adding some sort of exhaust pipe or other object to backside of the crossmember as suggested, you may need to have it removed and weld in my "bottom piece of the engine bracket.

One of the main aspects of my Engine Mount Brackets is the "Bottom Piece" has a curved piece that catches on the backside edge of crossmember and serves as a "stop" keeping the engine from moving too far forward. I have fitted three engines mated to the later model Mustang T5 transmissions into three different Alpines utilizing my engine mounts and my headers without any notable differences. I have at least 1/2 to 1" clearance between the fan and radiator on my cars. The one with the 1/2" clearance has an A/C unit installed which requires an additional pulley for the water pump and the harmonic balancer. Sell for $170.00 set w/ rubber biscuits +shipping

1st two PIC's show jose brackets on the left, I bought and my "Big Foot" brackets center with out the holes or gussets. The brackets on the right were used on my '65SIV GT BW35. But were replaced with similar brackets in the 3rd and 4th PICs. The other PICs depict different stages of development, various angles for viewing and shows the rubber biscuits.
