Diff bearings

I've learnt to cope with many surprises during the restoration of my series 111 Alpine but this one has left me gobsmacked!
In the process of refurbishing the diff I went on the hunt for the bearings. When it came to sourcing the outer pinion bearing I could not find one locally so went on the internet. Bearing prices do vary but most bearings will cost US$30 - US$40. Imagine my surprise therefore to be quoted anything from US$750 - US$1000 for this bearing which carries the number 23101x/4.
This bearing does not look any different from any normal taper roller bearing so the question that I ask is why the extortionate price? Or am I missing something?
I would be grateful for any suggestions as to what I should do other than leave the existing bearing in place!
