clutch master rebuild question

Despite being quite mechanically inclined,I'm a noob when it comes to clutches so please bear with me...

The clutch slave on my SV is just about shot and leaking like a sieve so I will be ordering a new one from SS as well a rebuild kit for the old one. I plan on have the old one re-sleeved and kept as a spare. Since I'm doing the slave I figure i would rebuilt the master as well and will get that kit from SS too.

My question is...can master cylinders get re-sleeved? If so is it worth it? What signs of excessive wear/damage should I be looking for when I rebuild the master? Again, sorry for the ignorance:eek:

Any cylinder can be resleeved, the questions are more along the line of is it necessary and is it worth it. The main thing to look for is pitting and/or rust in the current bore. If there is then without being sleeved new seals will either fail quickly or not work at all. In my years though I've not had one that required sleeving. I usually find that cleaning them up is adequate.
