Carburetor Heat Shield

After my recent incident watching gasoline from a leaky jet drip onto my exhaust manifold, and hearing other interesting stories from the past about potential and real fires, I was wondering if anyone has crafted a heat shielf to separate out the carbs from the exhaust manifold?

I had a 79 MG Midget for a couple of years and remember that it actually HAD a shield to protect it's exhaust manifold from the single Zenith Stromberg above it. Seemed like a simple but effective piece of work...

Hi Bill,

Following will be a link to an Ebay seller that I bought some heat shield material from when I was running twin Dellortos. I never got around to installing the heat shield, but it can be cut and moulded to suit any application. Try sourcing something similar from the states. I hope it helps.

Looks like good stuff, Robin. I'll check the local speed shops and see what I can find. I was hoping someone actually made one up for a SV but this is the next best thing. Thanks!
