Did the size of the avitar get changed?

I put up a new image, and noticed the limit is set to 50x50 pixels, and 19 kb, yet many people have 80x80 pixel. When I post it at 80x80, it automaticly knocks it down to 50x50. My file size is only 15 kb.

First I thought this was membership level, but it would appear not so.

50x50 is way small!
