A good, basic history of Rootes. Sunbeams and the competition side of Rootes don't get much play, but that's what books like Richard Langworth's Tiger, Alpine, Rapier - Sporting Cars of the Rootes Group are there for.

I visited Coventry, UK and saw this Historic site representing a blitzkrieg bombing during WWII.
Billy Rootes was also asked to lead the industrial reconstruction of Coventry after the German blitzkrieg attack of 14 November 1940. Whilst the death toll was much lower than some of the raids later in the war, the historic city center was badly damaged, the medieval cathedral left as a shell, and the industrial capability was severely affected. Daimler, Hillman and Alfred Herbert, Britain’s leading machine tool manufacturer, factories were all hit. Billy Rootes became Sir William for his efforts.
