Hi Jack. I think about going every year, but something always prevents me from going. I have nothing to stop me this year other than 1) its one of the most boring 5-hour drives in the country and 2) I really want to get my windshield installed and my dashboard back together.

My assumption has always been that the show would only have limited Sunbeam parts buried among the other LBC stuff. Have you (or anyone else on the board) ever been? Is it worth going to?

I have not gone myself but friends have gone in the past so I give them my shopping list.

Go to the chicagolandmgclub website and then click on the link to the swap meet. They have posted photos from last years meet. That will give you some idea of the size of the event.

I've looked at the pictures before. It is clearly a big event, but is my assumption correct that there are few Sunbeam parts around? How have your friends done with your shopping list?

I didn't have much luck, I was looking for specific gauges, clocks and such. You never know what might show up. At last year's British Car Show here in town a Lotus Elise owner walked up to me with a handful of Sunbeam head gaskets and other seals and said "Here you go!"

I really wanted to go, only 30 minutes away probably. Unfortunately, the home office has scheduled a mandatory event tomorrow for those same hours; have to wait for next year.

Hopefully, I will see you there next year. I am going to pass. I'd rather stay home and spend the day getting my dashboard back together.
