203 hp?

I just got my newest VB catalogue. In there is a testimonial from a customer who says that he is happy with his car and the stuff he bought from VB and that his Series V dynos out at 203 horsepower. Is that BS? What kind of modifications could you do to that 1725 motor to get that much of an increase? Hotter cam = 10 hp, shave the head another 10, Weber Carb another 10 to 15, still nowhere near the number claimed.

Perhaps there be a V8 under the hood.

In any case, Brian Holms (Tigert here IIRC) has a turbocharged and fuel injected 1725 that produces well more than that.

I have a naturally aspirated 1725 (1786 to be more accurate) that produced
170 at the crank. I would call that a 10 hour motor.

Back in the late 60s, it was said that the 1725 was a stronger motor than the 1600 ford kent and they would use heavily modified 1725s that allegedly produced 205hp in ford escort race cars. These would probably have to be considered 2 hour motors since to get those numbers you have to really rev the motor and revs kill.
