    Engine and Trans Rebuilder Suggestions

I would like to hear any suggestions for a good shop in the DFW area (preferably on the FW side but not necessary) for Sunbeam engine and manual transmission rebuilding. This is for a 1967 Alpine. Thank you.

Knock off to four bolt question

Thank you for the information. I believe this is the route I will take in the near future. My only concern is hub removal since, from what I have read, it is a difficult procedure. Mike

Knock off to four bolt question

The car in question is a 1967 Alpine Series V. If I were to remove the knock off hubs and replace them with used four bolt steel wheel hubs, can after market 14" or 15" wheels be used without other modifications? I am a complete novice on the issue but I have seen Alpines with beefier...

Since Click and Clack are Retiring

Thank you. You are correct. It occurs when the pedal is depressed. The car only idles normally when it is both in neutral and the pedal is released.

Since Click and Clack are Retiring

Thank you, sir. If it were the throw out bearing, would there be a whine associated with its failure? I ask because there isn't any noise when the clutch is engaged.

Since Click and Clack are Retiring

I have a noodler. The car in question is a stock 1967 Alpine Series V. The problem is, when the clutch is engaged, the car will both not start and will die if idling. In neutral, the car starts easily and idles fine. I can drive through the gears easily (since the clutch is engaged for...

Series V Brake Master Cylinder help

I am having difficulty re-attaching the line from the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder. I am reluctant to force the issue since the nut was stripped to begin with was removed with great difficulty. I am worried that I haven't threaded it correctly and was wondering if it should be...

I received the car this past Saturday. It is a little rough. Currently, I am unable to drive it due to the brake issue (it doesn't) but feel confident I can resolve that easily this next weekend. I found out that it was originally Forest Green (86) and not Carnival Red (39) so I am very...

Sunbeam Alpine Series V Air Filter

This may have been covered previously so I apologise if this is an FAQ but what is the solution to the unavailability to the Alpine Series V air filters? Thank you in advance.

Thank you. I have already been contacted by a member on the padded boss (and I don't even have the car yet!) so it looks as though this site is going to be a great resource for my project. Yes, it has the overdrive option. The current (soon to be former) owner of the vehicle stated that...
