e-mails and PM's

I note that in the new forum there is no listing of e-mail addresses, and also there is no handy link for "send an e-mail" or "send a PM". I found it useful in the old forum when reading a thread and wanting to respond with a PM, to just click on the name and click on "Send a PM". Not too big an issue as it is pretty easy to click on the Private Messages tab as long as you remember the forum name of the person you want to respond to.

But the lack of e-mail link is more frustrating. I do not see any e-mail addresses even in the profiles.

Thanks,

Tom Hayden

If you click on the user’s name or avatar, it brings up a little window with high-level details. At the bottom middle, it says “Send Message.” That’s how you send them a private message.

As for email. I don’t recall the old site having a list of emails, but I do remember having the ability to click on “Send an Email.” So far, I don’t see how that’s possible on the new site. I’ll add that to my list of things to investigate.

Thanks, Greg. I see the "send message" link now. Duh!

The old site did not have a "list of e-mails" and now I remember the profiles did not even show the e-mail addresses. But as you note you could "send an Email" and that would send a "SAOCA e-mail" that could be responded to directly to the poster. This was the best way for me, and I assume others who provide services, to conduct business with members. The alternative is a couple PM exchanges to make the e-mail connection before detailed communication is conducted.
